London has existed since Roman times. Then it went under the name Londinium. The London kingdom began with the coronation of William the Conqueror in 1066 at Westminster Abbey. One of the most famous rulers is probably Henry VIII of Tudor during the 1500s. He was a great king, but he is probably most famous for his six wives. He was also the father of England's most powerful queen - Elizabeth I. For those of you who like history, London is a very interesting city to visit. Many things have happened here that left their mark on the city...

When to go?
We think you can visit London anytime during the year. Summer is a pleasant time and it's nice to stroll around. London is a metropolis so be prepared for lot of people everywhere. In December, the city is filled with garlands and Christmas lights, so a London Christmas trip is a tip. It seldom snows. England are members of the EU but has kept its currency British Pound..
Experience to London on foot. It's an easy city to walk in.

Although London is a big city it is very walk friendly. To walk around is a quiet and pleasant way to see the city. Best known is probably London for its red double-deckers (bus with two levels) and their characteristic taxi cars. You also have the world's oldest subway in London, a fast and easy way to navigate under ground. But as always, we think you should try to walk as much as possible, then you also get some exercise. So put on your walking shoes!.
